Michael Beale back in running

Michael Beale is back in the running for the managerial vacancy at Charlton, although Championship clubs are also interested in the Aston Villa assistant head coach: https://londonnewsonline.co.uk/aston-villa-assistant-michael-beale-again-in-running-for-charlton-athletic-job/

He spent eight years coaching in the Charlton academy early in his career.   However, Richard Cawley has pointed out that he is settled at Villa.

Beale was the second favourite in our poll of Charlton fans.

Midfielder Ben Dempsey has signed a three year permanent deal at Ayr United.  The fee is undisclosed.

Kilt for Dempsey?

Midfielder Ben Dempsey is to join Ayr United who have been measuring a kilt for him for some time according to the Scottish press: https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/ayrshire/charlton-athletic-midfielder-ben-dempsey-26025236?utm_source=twitter.com&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=sharebar

He looked unlikely to break through into the first team at Charlton.

He has now joined Ayr on loan until the end of the season.

Still hopes of getting Doughty in a kilt

Celtic (and Rangers) have not been mentioned in recent discussions of Alfie Doughty's future but hopes are still being expressed that he could be lured north of the border: https://www.67hailhail.com/news/doughty-still-to-make-decision-on-future-celtic-must-move-quickly/

The offer of a bespoke kilt and a dialect coach were never enough for Doughty.   I lived in Glasgow for a year and it was enjoyable for that period of time, but I decided to return south of the border despite the sporting opportunities I had in Scotland.

It looks as if Ben Dempsey is going to spend the rest of the season at Woking.   I need to pay more attention to how he has been doing.  The Cards are currently mid-table.
