Barnsley are confident of taking all three points at The Valley this evening: https://www.barnsleychronicle.com/article/31222/reds-hunt-4th-straight-win-at-in-form-charlton
Charlton are second in the form table, bur the Tykes have the best away record in League One, ten games won in all. In the process they have conceded 21 goals but scored 25.
Charlton may be in 6th place, but there are four teams chasing them: Bolton, Leyton Orient, Reading and Barnsley. However, they are only two points behind Huddersfield in 5th and four points behind Stockport in 4th.
Barnsley won 4-3 against Lincoln City at home last Saturday In all they have conceded 47 goals in League One compared with just 31 for Charlton.
Head Tykes coach Darrell Clarke bemoaned poor decision-making in the last 15 minutes which he said was the story of their season. 'I never feel I can relax with our boys. I have to be on at them all the time.' He said that the team was a little depleted with injuries and suspensions, but was pleased with the physical nature of his team's play. Expect northern cloggers tonight and no protection from the referee.
My Badger League prediction was 2-1 and I will stick with that with some nervousness.
