Charlton are a 'work in progress'

Nathan Jones says that he does not set up his teams to play long and that Charlton are a work in progress: https://londonnewsonline.co.uk/sport/nathan-jones-says-charlton-are-a-work-in-progress-and-he-does-not-set-them-up-to-always-play-long/

Jones also says that if you add in cup games we have won around half our games.   It would be nice if one got points for wins in the EFL trophy.

Nevertheless, pessimists need to be reminded that 12th is not a relegation position.   There is also no vacancy for manager and I do not think the owners are contemplating a change.

  1. Wow! twelfth in League one, let's celebrate. There may be no managerial vacancy at this moment, but there needs to be, very soon. If the owners can't see we are useless boring rabble of a football team with an equally useless windbag at the helm. They 'll be getting a painful shock as we slide down the table.

  2. Given the calibre of the squad with one of our best players injured seems reasonable enough to me. Changing managers every eight months gets you nowhere.

  3. Sticking with a clueless half-wit without an ounce of football knowledge, will get us in League two. But that doesn't bother you !

  4. I think we will stay in League One, but one can play football in League Two. Does it bother me that my non-league side is in tier two of the non-league system? No. It's about supporting a club. Perhaps in League Two we might shed some of the moaners, although I suspect that many of them are long-term supporters.
