'Matt's my boy'

Nathan Jones has taken on his critics by arguing that Matt Godden is a worthy replacement for Alfie May: https://londonnewsonline.co.uk/sport/nathan-jones-praises-gassan-ahadme-double-and-says-matty-godden-is-answering-questions-raised-by-alfie-may-departure/

May has scored fewer goals than Godden this season, although this may in part reflect his appearances for the Blues.

Jones explained that he didn't want to take a risk with Leaburn yesterday and had news about players returning: https://londonnewsonline.co.uk/sport/nathan-jones-explains-why-miles-leaburn-sat-out-charlton-win-at-walsall-and-gives-positive-update-on-another-absentee/

  1. And NJ reverts to bullsh*t. He might not have noticed but Alfie May is now at Birmingham who are third in the division. Who signed two strikers May and Stansfield who cost several millions apparently. So unsurprisingly Stansfield starts every game if fit, whereas May doesn't always get a start. Godden and May have both scored 5 league goals. At the seasons end, If Matty Godden has scored 23 league goals and won the L1 Golden boot then he can be judged as a replacement for May.
As for Ahadme. Two goals against L2 opposition are very welcome. Wouldn't it be nice if he could do it against L1 opposition.

    1. Bit unfair Daggs (although I love your cynicism) May has scored 5 goals, one every 173 minutes he’s played for a top 3 side. Godden has scored 5 too, one every 167 minutes which is slightly better and he’s played for a mid table side. So statistically at least Godden to date looks to be the better goalscorer of the two!
