An Australian consortium is in talks to buy Charlton: Oz buyers

The UK chairman of the Australian Football Consortium is the chairman of construction firm Balfour Beatty.

Charlton would become a conduit for Socerroos. Charlton would become 'Australia's football club.' The price is said to be £20m.

It seems likely that this rather low price is just for the club and not the ground and training ground which would be rented out. It is believed that a ten year lease will be offered. Alternatively, the new owners might additionally have to service and pay down the debt.

It is hoped to secure a return to the Premier League in five years.

Melbourne-based Henslow pty ltd. is undertaking the capital raise process. Deloitte Sports Business undertook a feasibility study: Australian Football Consortium
