And there's a certain similarity in Becchetti's comments - "over the last two years, I have, unfortunately, not been able to dedicate myself to following the club as closely as I would have wanted" - and Duchatelet's 'it is a pity I'm too busy to give Charlton much attention' line. Both pretend that if they were able to devote some time they would have succeeded, rather than face the fact that it is their moronic decisions which result in failure.
