Why does Andrew Shinnie no longer feature in Nigel Adkins's plans? Benjy Nurick attempts to find the answer: https://londonnewsonline.co.uk/time-is-running-out-for-andrew-shinnie-to-make-telling-contribution-as-charlton-face-play-off-crunch/
In short the answer appears to be that the new manager favours a different style of play and Shinnie doesn't fit into it. Alex Gilbey has been brought back in and Jake Forster-Caskey is seen as a key contributor so there is not a lot of room in midfield after the Watson/Pratley role has been taken into account.
A number of fans have commented on social media that Shinnie is a creative midfielder who has something to offer. At least he should be on the bench rather than running forlornly round The Valley.
