Farewell then, Tex

Jorge Teixeira has joined Sint Truiden on a three year deal. Karl Robinson reckons that his departure to the mother ship marks a new start at the club, offering fans a more evenly balanced side: Why Tex left

Robinson refused to be drawn on the player's salary, rumoured to be £12k a week. Incidentally, it appears that we are paying a big slice of Ajose's salary at the cash strapped Shakers.

Karl Robinson has yet to decide whether Naby Sarr or Cristian Ceballos will remain at The Valley after the summer, but in the meantime has asked them to behave in a professional manner and show him respect: Boss torn on future of duo

However, the Charlton boss emphasised that if they left they would have to be replaced by better. Not too difficult surely?

Getting rid of players is difficult

Igor Vetokele is to join Sint Truiden next season, it is not clear whether this is a loan or a permanent move, but with Roland owning both clubs that is of little importance: On His Way

With season ticket sales flagging, the club is keen to offload players given long contracts. However, no one seems to want Naby Sarr, while efforts are also being made to find a home for the highest paid player at The Valley, Jorge Teixeira.

VOTV editor Rick Everitt has tweeted that Katrien Meire is still paying over the going rate, so 'let's hope the signings are the right ones this time.'

Draw specialists draw

The two teams in the Football League with the most draws to their name, Charlton Athletic and Bradford City, recorded a 1-1 draw at The Valley tonight. However, after a pulsating second half, Charlton could justifiably claim that they deserved all three points.

The Bantams dominated the opening phase of the first half. On three minutes Vincelot was narrowly wide from distance. Charlton's diamond formation was not working well and Chicksen was uncomfortable on the wrong side.

However, Charlton then started to the get in the game more. A Holmes free kick was flicked on by Bauer and Teixeira headed into the top corner to make it 1-0.

Following a Bradford corner on 43 minutes, Marshall put in a powerful strike and Dieng headed home from the rebound to equalise.

In time added on Watt broke into the area and turned well, but his effort was saved.

HT: Addicks 1, Bantams 1

After the break the Addicks won two corners in succession. A dipping Crofts half volley from 35 yards was just over.

Just after 60 minutes, Charlton pressure created three chances to score which were not taken. First, Novak missed; then Watt missed; and Ulvestad was a couple of yards wide.

On 68 minutes Johnnie Jackson had to head clear from a threatening corner.

On 70 minutes Page's hamstring gave way. Dasilva came on and did well, while Crofts was replaced by Konsa.

A good Charlton break saw a shot from Holmes blocked. From a free kick, Teixeira headed straight at the keeper. A Johnnie Jackson free kick skimmed over the bar.

In time added on a tiring Holmes received a standing ovation for his efforts as he was replaced by Forster-Caskey.

Official attendance 9,326 with 932 from Bradford. Katrien Meire was there.

Tex wants more game time

Jorge Teixeira would like more game time. He was sidelined under Russell Slade, although there was speculation at the time that that was because he was being prepared for sale. He has got more action under Karl Robinson, but not as many starts as he would like: Teixeira

I think he has a case. He is a committed player who can score goals as well as defend.

Three draws in four games

Charlton drew 3-3 at Rochdale yesterday, their third draw in four games, enabling them to secure thirteenth place in the table. Manager Karl Robinson said that the chances the Addicks had missed in the first half had been criminal.

Niall Canavan's opener was cancelled out by Jordan Botaka, while Jorge Teixeira put Charlton ahead before the break before Calvin Andrews' leveller. Substitute Nathaniel Mendez-Laing gave the home side the lead again, but Teixeira got his second just before full time.

Rochdale went ahead after four minutes following an error by Declan Rudd. He failed to claim McDermott's free kick, allowing Canavan to tap home. However, Rudd did well on 25 minutes with a diving save to keep out Andrews' header.

Five minutes from the break Botaka broke free and though his effort hit the post, he made no mistake with the rebound.

Substitute Stephy Mavididi ran past several home players in a 66th minute run, only to be denied by Wilson. From the corner Bauer nodded down for Teixeira to give the Addicks the lead. Once again Charlton showed they could not hold on to a lead when Henderson's cross was headed past Rudd by Andrew.

Mendez-Laing put a curling shot past a diving Rudd on 84 minutes but Bauer nodded down for Teixeira to score the equaliser two minutes from the end.

Injury hit Charlton hold on for point

With two injuries in the first half hour, Charlton held on for a 0-0 draw against Millwall at The Valley today. The early loss of Josh Magennis was a particular blow. It was a poor quality game, watched by an official 15,315 of whom 3,169 supported the visitors. Local blogger Darryl Chamberlain called it south-east London's 'El Crapico.'

The returning Rudd was in goal, Solly was back and Page replaced the departed Fox at left back. Magennis was up front on his own.

On 8 minutes Gregory was one on one with Rudd. He had beaten Bauer for pace and tried to lob the advancing Rudd but the ball went wide. Magennis fell awkwardly on his ankle and had to be stretchered off, but returned to the dugout in the second half wearing a big protective boot. He was replaced by Tony Watt, who had already received a big cheer from the Covered End as he warmed up. He advanced and got past two players to win the Addicks a corner.

Byrne tried his luck from twenty yards, but it was held by Archer in the Millwall goal. Watt cleared with a good header from a Millwall corner. Page, who had made an impressive start, went down holding his ankle and had to hobble off. Chelsea loanee Jay Dasilva came on and Chicksen moved to left back.

Thomson was booked for a foul on Byrne. Archer tipped away a volley from Byrne. Tex was booked for a soft foul on Morison who made the most of it. Dasilva's low cross was too close to Archer. Chicksen was fouled, but the Charlton free kick was cleared, Shaun Williams received a yellow card for tripping Konsa.

HT: 0-0

Charlton had lacked a cutting edge without Magennis and Millwall had more chances in the second half. Rudd did well to get to the ball before Gregory. Watt was booked for a high challenge. Bauer got the ball in the net from a Charlton corner, but it was ruled out for a foul on the keeper, a decision that infuriated Karl Robinson. Tex cleared away a Millwall free kick.

In the latter part of the half, Charlton were under some pressure. They won a free kick after a foul on Watt, but Tex kicked it out of play. Holmes replaced the substitute Dasilva. A dubious Millwall corner (it was clear that Morison had put the ball out) was followed by a second. Solly was booked for a foul on Ferguson. From a free kick by the corner flag, Gregory put the ball inches wide.

Hapless referee Keith Stroud broke up a Charlton counter attack by standing in the way. He seemed unable to position himself properly. Gregory got a yellow card for kicking Rudd when he had the ball. In five minutes added on, a Bauer header was just kept out by Archer.

Following the full-time whistle, Teixeira was then red carded (a second yellow) for an off-the-ball incident for throwing the ball at Morison. He has tweeted an apology to fans, while hinting that he was provoked.

Possession was 65-35 in favour of Charlton, but they had just three shots on target to Millwall's two.

Millwall manager Neil Harris commented after the match on the Bauer disallowed goal: 'Ten years ago, it's a good goal. I was a striker, so I think if the goalkeeper's letting the ball go you should be able to challenge.'

The Football League Paper commented, 'Charlton have cause for optimism- Ezri Konsa's mature performance and accomplished debuts from Nathan Byrne and Jay Dasilva. They can feel hard done by with injuries and two disallowed goals.'

Charlton remain in 11th place.

Football League Paper player scores: Rudd, 7; Solly, 6; Bauer, 5; Texeira, 4; Page, 6 (Dasilva, 7); Crofts, 6; Byrne, 7; Konsa, 7; Aribo, 6; Chicksen, 5; Magennis, 6 (Watt 5).

The treatment table

Russell Slade has provided updates on three injured Charlton players: Treatment table

The most progress is being made by Jorge Teixeira who may be able to play in an under 21s match on Monday. Unfortunately, Ahmed Kashi is making slow progress. He is now receiving rehab in Paris for his Achilles problem.

In the case of El Hajdi Ba, he is not being allowed to train with the first train and Russell Slade doubts whether he really wants to play for Charlton.

Duo may be hard to shift

Charlton would like to move out El-Hadj Ba and Jorge Teixeira before the transfer window closes, but there don't seem to be many takers, even for Teixeira: Duo on offer

Now who was it who have Teixeira a 4.5 year contract? Would that be the same person who wants to reduce the wage bill?
