Attempts to bring Macaulay Bonne in on loan ended when QPR pulled the plug for reasons that are unclear. I wasn't that enthusiastic about the deal given his difficulty in hitting the proverbial barn door.
The club is now going to look at free agents, but there will be slim pickings there.
Alex Gilbey has gone to Stevenage.
VOTV editor Rick Everitt commented:'Sandgaard’s failure to back the manager sufficiently in the transfer window means he and not Garner will be seen as culpable if Charlton fall short. He might want to hold off on the next appearance in front of away fans. Most fans recognise the case for financial sustainability, but it isn’t going to happen in L1 whatever the owner claims, and premium ticket prices won’t work either. The only way is up, literally, so we have to hope the manager is a miracle-worker.'

That statement on the OS ain't fooling anybody
ReplyDeleteThere's no budget to maintain the size or quality of the squad at even last season's level cos Sandgaard lost the plot and blew bundles on Crocks Aneke, Private Fraser, Limping Leko and the premier league schoolboys who never played. Under FFP we're screwed for this season as a minimum. Worse still DJ's now been undermined since we know he was for the exit until late last night. Offloading a few more youngsters to non-league ain't scratching the surface of TS's profligacy
