In a rather cryptic Twitter post former Charlton chief executive Peter Varney has said: 'If you care about Charlton even if you feel disillusioned at present please buy your ticket for the Brighton cup game and come with the mindset to create a passionate atmosphere as it is very important to showcase the club on that night.'
This has been interpreted as meaning that prospective purchasers of the club will be there that night. There have certainly been rumours about such investors, but it should be cautioned that Roland is unlikely to be willing to sell The Valley or the training ground - or certainly not at a reasonable price.
Congratulations to Olly Groome on his appointment as head of media and communications at Welling United. It has been suggested that he reached an out of court settlement with Thomas Sandgaard over his dismissal from Charlton.
