Tonight Charlton face Wigan at The Valley. A win would take the Addicks closer to absolute safety and even hold out the prospect of a top half of the table finish should other results go our way.
This would give us a platform for next season, enabling us to retain Alfie May and recruit other promising players as the squad is shaken up.
Charlton are currently 7th in the League One form table and Wigan are 12th, In the real table they are three places above Charlton.
Their home record is much better than their away record. Away from home they have won five, drawn five and lost ten.
Last Saturday the Lactics had a goalless draw at home with Port Fail. Wigan boss Shaun Maloney said, 'It wasn't too bad, it was just ok' but admitted that his side became 'a bit toothess'.
