VOTV editor Rick Everitt comments, 'Home support was down 1,800 yesterday on the Sheffield Wednesday game, despite the latter being televised and the free guest ticket being available for the first time against Wigan. Home match tickets issued about 40% down on previous game. Fear it could be worse v Crewe.'
'Hard to know what effect holidays have in August - weather should offset people being away - but Wednesday probably an outlier for lots of reasons. Not going to see 15,000 official again before Pompey on September 25th at this rate.'
