VOTV editor Rick Everitt did visit Australia many years ago. I'm not sure whether he has kept any souvenirs, but if he has, he may well be putting his cork hat on again.

He makes the point that there was just too much detail in the Mail story for it to be a journalistic invention. He also knocks on the head the idea that Roland has a scheme to redevelop The Valley. The fact is that it would be a very difficult and expensive site to redevelop.
He hasn't thrown any light on the talks that two leading Charlton fans were having in Melbourne last month, but no doubt more will emerge about that in due course.
