Charlton set a high bar for themselves

The SLP's Richard Cawley reviews Charlton's start to the season: https://londonnewsonline.co.uk/richard-cawleys-big-match-verdict-on-charlton-3-fleetwood-2-addicks-setting-bar-high-as-they-show-more-than-one-way-to-win-league-one-matches/

Cawley notes that the biggest number of wins in a row was 12 under Alan Curbishley, but even half that number is impressive when you consider the compacted nature of the schedule and the wholesale changes to the squad.

Lee Bowyer did, of course, think that Charlton would be playing catch up because of the late lifting of the transfer embargo.   The judicious journalist notes, 'The difficulty now is that the Addicks have set the bar high at a point of the season when manager Lee Bowyer expected them to still be finding their feet.'
