Two pizza takeaways

Two takeaways from tonight's 3-1 Papa John trophy victory over Leyton Orient was the progress made by Albie Morgan and an improved performance from Marcus Maddison who got his first Charlton goal, both players having been criticised by Lee Bowyer: https://londonnewsonline.co.uk/charlton-boss-lee-bowyer-pleased-to-see-progress-from-both-albie-morgan-and-marcus-maddison-during-efl-trophy-win-over-leyton-orient/

With Charlton 1-0 ahead at half time it was already pizza all over the gaff.   Jason Pearce was able to get in a useful 45 minutes in the first half.   Ashley Maynard-Brewer made a great save in goal in the second half.

An excited Louis Mendez tweeted: 'Plucky underdogs Charlton with one of the giant-killings of this season's Papa Johns Trophy, beating an Orient side a whole two places above them in the pizza league southern group G table.'

Lee Bowyer expects Alex Gilbey to be back in training next week.

One lucky fan won a pizza.
