Bring in Curbs urges Brownie

Steve Brown thinks that Alan Curbishley should be brought in as a key advisor at Charlton: https://londonnewsonline.co.uk/steve-brown-its-perplexing-why-alan-curbishleys-know-how-is-not-being-utilised-to-help-charlton-owner-thomas-sandgaard/

Many fans have argued that his talents are wasted sitting in the stand that bears his name given the current crisis of the club.   Sometimes it seems that he has been hinting at such a role.

  1. With all due respect to what Curbs achieved at Charlton, that was 14 years ago and he’s reproduced none of that since. He’s is the day before yesterday’s man.
There’s no way to make it look good if TS now appoints someone over the team manager’s head, it’s a slight and a demotion however you dress it up.
Curbs understands better than most being undermined by a team’s owners.
Too much nostalgia rose tinting the whole Curbs comeback fantasy.
    Chris Powell? Now you’re talking

  2. The points you make are valid. It is a bit too much back to the future. It is long time since he had even an advisory role (at Fulham).
