Careful about reading results off the table

Some Charlton fans have been forecasting a 3-0 or 4-0 win against MK Dons at The Valley tonight, but one must be careful about reading results off the table.

The Franchisees have had a poor start to the season after their successes last year.   They are currently bottom of the table and second from bottom in the form table where Charlton are suxth.   They have won two games away from home, as against one at home, but have lost four.

One must be careful about basing too much on what is shown on The Football League Show as League One teams are usually limited to their best or worst minute, if that.   However, MK Dons seems to like playing out from the back.  That is all very well if you are Manchester City, but not if you are a run of the mill League One club.

Manager Liam Manning put their defeat at home to Wycombe Wanderers on Saturday down to a failure to take chances because of a lack of confidence.

We should win tonight provided we take our chances, win the midfield battles and avoid defensive errors.  Not that easy, then.
