We have rightly been concerned about our ability to defend from set plays and having Lavelle out for the rest of the season with a dislocated shoulder (very painful, but Derek Ufton used to play on) doesn't help. However, Stockley is a great presence in defence.
An Addick has made a good point online about our ability to score: 'Charlton’s expected goals (xG) of 2.32, compared to Lincoln’s 0.73, shows just how wasteful Stockley and Washington were in front of goal. It also backs up Jackson’s feelings post-match where he said he couldn’t believe his side were beaten with the number of chances they created.

Up to last Saturday, just four teams had a worse goal scoring record at home and two of them are bottom and second from bottom. Saturday's opponents Rotherham have scored 12 more at home and conceded five less. Away from home, only four teams have scored fewer than us: Crewe and Doncaster again, the Gills and Accrington who rely on their home form.
No doubt some will argue it's the formation that is to blame, but we don't seem to score as many from midfield as in the past and the service is inconsistent, although Blackett-Taylor certainly helps.
Stockley and Washington are good strikers but are individuals who do not complement each other. What is needed is a Lyle the Tayler type of player who can score but also create for his partner.
