I see no ships, but do I see a takeover?

The Government has offered a tender for a Ramsgate to Belgium shipping service after Brexit to a company that has no ships. One might also ask whether the latest takeover stories are also a mirage, but from his Ramsgate fastness VOTV editor Rick Everitt tries to throw light on the situation: Waiting and hoping

The most interesting nugget was the news that Roland's front man Lieven de Turck had to show the prospective purchasers around Sparrows Lane on Sunday when normally the barmy Belgian's sidekick only appears in South-East London midweek. Hopefully, he was able to get back to Belgium in time for the New Year celebrations even without a boat service from Ramsgate.

It was also interesting that one of the prospective investors has Aussie Rules connections, although fortunately the Valley pitch is too small for the game which I have enjoyed in the expanses of the Melbourne Cricket Ground.

Meanwhile, happy 42nd birthday to Lee Bowyer.
