Charlton owner Roland Duchatelet has told Talksport he won't be coming to Wembley because of safety fears: Talksport interview
One would have thought that the national stadium could provide sufficient security for someone even as unpopular with fans as the barmy Belgian. After all, he wouldn't have to sit with them. Perhaps he is concerned about what might happen away from the stadium.
He suggested that he was the victim of a 'witch hunt' from ‘uncontrollable’ Addicks fans, who are desperate to see the end of his five-year reign at the Valley.
At least he got something right then
ReplyDeleteI'm glad he's not planning on making an appearance - it would only be a distraction. Anyone know why Sunderland have been allocated 37,700 tickets, according to their website and the Addicks only 36,918 according to cafc.co.uk?
ReplyDeleteIt's simply the configuration of Wembley that means security can't safely equally divide the seats between the two ends of the ground. For the EFL trophy it was Pompey who got the larger share and Sunderland the slightly smaller. In any case, given the average size of Sunderland attendances this season, it would make sense they get a slightly larger share if there's no way to resolve equitably.
ReplyDeleteThanks for taking the time to answer James
ReplyDeleteThat "interview" was a farce, White should be ashamed, Roly doled out allegations, excuses and lies without any challenge what so ever. If he were actually being threatened, he'd take action wouldn't he? Report it to the authorities? No? That's cos it isn't happening. He is bringing the game into disrepute with the assistance of White and his ilk. Shame on them both.
